The Bikes section is for riders shopping, comparing or trying to understand a machine before they put money down. We cover dual sport and adventure bikes, enduro and trail bikes, and the motocross models that crossover riders end up racing on weekends.

Expect first looks at new models, head-to-head comparisons, used-bike checklists and plain explanations of the categories that confuse new riders, like the real difference between a street-legal dual sport, a plated enduro and a closed-course dirt bike. Specs come from the manufacturer, and we explain what they mean on the trail: seat height for shorter riders, how far a tank really goes, what a suspension change does for rocks and roots, and where a bike's limits are.

Prices are U.S. MSRP from the manufacturer unless the story says otherwise, and they change, so check with a dealer before you buy. When a model hasn't been confirmed for the U.S. market, we say so.
