KTM finally put a name on the garage build a lot of hard-enduro riders were already assembling: the 2027 300 EXC HARDENDURO. Per KTM’s September 3, 2026 press release and the official model page, MY27 keeps the race-winning HARDENDURO hardware stack on the fuel-injected 300 EXC two-stroke and leads with an updated HARDENDURO-specific graphics package that separates it from standard EXC and EXC 6DAYS bikes.
Motorcycle.com’s coverage frames it the way riders will shop it: factory protection, hard-enduro gearing, and mapping aimed at slow technical work - the showroom answer if you would otherwise build a PowerParts rock bike. What’s new for 2027
According to KTM press and MCNews’ AU/NZ confirmation, HARDENDURO-specific graphics are the declared headline change. Published mechanical specs carry over - 293.15 cc single two-stroke, 39 mm Keihin TBI, Vitesco EMS, six-speed, wet DDS clutch with Brembo hydraulics, WP XACT 48 mm closed-cartridge fork (300 mm travel) with base-valve preload adjusters, WP XPLOR PDS rear (310 mm), 963 mm seat height, 347 mm ground clearance, 9 L tank, 105.9 kg without fuel. KTM does not claim new mapping, chassis geometry, or braking hardware for MY27.

Standard kit called out in the OEM press sheet: HARDENDURO graphics; orange frame; HARDENDURO bar pad; soft grey ODI lock-on grips; black ribbed Diamante Factory seat; map-select switch; orange Factory frame protector set; Factory wheel set (black Excel rims/spokes, orange hubs and nipples); Metzeler 6Days Extreme with soft rear; wrap-around handguards; radiator fan; black-anodized CNC triple clamps; WP XACT closed-cartridge fork with base-valve preload; skid plate; floating front / solid rear discs; front and orange rear disc guards; rear brake safety wire; orange Supersprox Stealth sprocket; orange oil plug; clutch slave protection; front and rear pull straps; black-anodized engine hangers.
Price and availability
KTM UK press prices the MY27 HARDENDURO at £11,599 with first units arriving early September. MCNews confirms Australian and New Zealand dealers from November 2026 and publishes A$22,395 for Australia. U.S. MSRP and U.S. dealer window are not stated in the primary Sep 3-4 KTM international/UK press sheet or Motorcycle.com’s reprint - confirm with your authorized KTM dealer before you budget a crate.
Who it’s for
If you already race or train hard enduro on a 300 EXC and want the factory protection/suspension stack without building it part-by-part, MY27 is a graphics-and-availability refresh on the developed 2026 package - not a clean-sheet motor. Club woods racers who want a lighter, more open EXC should stay on the standard bike. Dual-sport tourists looking for a plated trail bike should look elsewhere in the EXC/FE dual-sport line. Ask your dealer which crate month is realistic in your market, budget chest protection and tire wear for rock work, and read Trail Roamer’s suspension setup basics before touching the base-valve preload.
