2027 Honda Montesa 4Ride: Trail-Trial Formula Returns Unchanged

Honda Montesa confirmed the 2027 4Ride carries over unchanged — 258.9cc, 4.3-liter tank, 82 kg, TECH 39 mm / Pro-Link travel — with UK pricing at £7,099 while Cota siblings get fresh graphics.

Not every model-year story is a redesign. Honda Montesa’s 2027 range announcement (September 18) is blunt about the 4Ride: the trail-trial jack-of-all-trades stays **technically and aesthetically unchanged** while the Cota 301RR and Cota 4RT 260R pick up new liveries.

That matters if you ride slow, steep, and technical more than you chase time cards. The 4Ride sits between a pure trials scalpel and a full-size enduro — seat included, street kit included, weight kept absurdly low. Enduro21’s September 22 write-up frames it as Honda keeping an ICE play-bike alive in a niche that’s drifting electric.

The numbers that still define it

Per Honda UK specifications for the 2027 machine: a **258.9 cc** liquid-cooled SOHC four-stroke single (78 × 54.2 mm, 10.5:1), PGM-FI, five-speed gearbox, hydraulic wet clutch, and kick start. Fuel capacity stays **4.3 L** — more than double the Cota 260R’s tiny trials tank, which is the whole point of longer days.

Chassis carries the Montesa aluminum twin-tube DNA: **TECH 39 mm** adjustable fork with **190 mm** travel, Pro-Link rear with **170 mm**, **21/18** wheels on Dunlop trials rubber (80/100-21 front, 120/100-18 rear), **325 mm** ground clearance, **905 mm** seat height, **1,335 mm** wheelbase, and a claimed total weight of **82 kg** (~181 lb). Brakes are compact discs — 185 mm front / 183 mm rear — sized for trials-speed control, not desert high-speed stops.

What changed around it for 2027

The Cota 301RR gets a new red-and-white competition look; the Cota 4RT 260R shifts to a classic red-and-black palette. The 4Ride keeps its black-and-white identity. All three continue to be built at Montesa Honda in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Barcelona, per the official press release.

On price, Honda UK lists the **2027 Montesa 4Ride at £7,099**. Enduro21 notes last year’s identical machine was still advertised about £100 cheaper at press time — shop the live Honda UK configurator before you budget. **North America MSRP and allocation are not confirmed** in the EU press materials; don’t invent a U.S. sticker.

Rider takeaway

If you want a sub-185 lb trail-trial bike with a real seat and a 4.3 L tank, the 2027 4Ride is the same tool Montesa already sold — now with a locked UK price and unchanged black-and-white kit. Perfect for rocky day rides and trials-curious dual-sporters; the wrong bike if you need highway range or GNCC-speed suspension.
