2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica Comes to U.S. and Canadian Dealers

KTM's competition-spec 450 Rally Replica begins arriving at authorized U.S. and Canadian dealers this fall, with just over 100 built worldwide and an order form that has to clear allocation first.

For years the closest most North American privateers got to a factory KTM rally bike was a shipping quote and a customs broker. That changes this fall. KTM's Canadian release of September 18 and the matching U.S. text, which Cycle News reprinted, make it official: the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica is coming to authorized dealers in the United States and Canada for the first time, in extremely limited numbers and in pure competition spec.

KTM's ordering page puts a number on "limited": just over 100 units worldwide. This isn't a plated dual-sport with a tower bolted on. KTM calls it the only customer race model developed, produced and assembled by its official KTM Motorsports facility in Austria. If you came here looking for the LC4 690 Rally, that's a different aisle. The 690 is a long-range dual-sport. The 450 Rally Replica is a stage bike with a roadbook tower and three fuel tanks.

How you actually get one

KTM USA's process is more like an allocation request than a showroom sale. You download an order form, fill it in and take it to your KTM dealer. KTM then checks the order against allocation and availability, and if it's confirmed, the dealer gets an official confirmation and you get payment instructions. The order is only final after that confirmation, and allocation is first come, first served. Delivery details are handled one buyer at a time, and every bike includes a one-year premium warranty.

Both releases say the bikes will begin arriving at dealers this fall. KTM hasn't said how many of the roughly 100 units are earmarked for North America.

The competition spec sheet

KTM's U.S. product page lists a 449.3 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a SOHC head, four titanium valves on DLC-coated rocker arms, a six-speed gearbox and a reinforced clutch. Keihin supplies the EMS and the 44 mm throttle body with rally-specific mapping, a titanium Akrapovič exhaust is standard, and cooling comes from two independent radiators plus an oil cooler. KTM points out that the second radiator doubles as a backup if one gets damaged.

Suspension is WP's Pro line: a 48 mm XACT PRO 7548 closed-cartridge Cone Valve fork and a fully adjustable XACT PRO 7750 shock. Cycle News lists travel at 12.0 inches front and 11.0 inches rear and a claimed 304 pounds race ready. CNC triple clamps run a 23 mm offset, with KTM's PHDS bar mount and a Scotts damper on top. Brakes are Brembo on 300 mm and 240 mm discs, the wheels are Excel rims on cast aluminum hubs wearing Michelin Starcross 6 Medium/Soft tires, and the seat is by Selle Dalla Valle. A Li-ion 4.5 Ah battery runs the electric start, there's tool storage built into an engine cover, and the LED headlight is claimed to put out 33 percent more light.

Three tanks, two capacities

Fuel is the other rally signature, and KTM's own documents don't agree on how much it holds. The Canadian release, which matches the U.S. text Cycle News reprinted, says the three-tank system holds 9.11 gallons, or 34.5 liters. The U.S. product page says 9.24 gallons, or 35 liters, made up of two 9-liter front tanks and a self-supporting 16-liter rear tank that doubles as the subframe. Add those three tanks up and you get 34 liters, which matches neither total. Two separate fuel pumps let you draw from the front or rear tanks, and warning lights in the tower show when either reserve is active.

MSRP, and a correction

The U.S. MSRP is $42,499, according to both Cycle News and ADV Pulse, and ADV Pulse lists C$47,999 in Canada. KTM's product and ordering pages don't print a price. An earlier version of this story said Cycle News listed a lower U.S. figure. Its story now shows the same number, so there's no longer a gap between the two reports.

Dakar lineage, not a results story

KTM leans hard on the race record. The product page credits the 450 Rally with 12 of KTM's 21 Dakar wins, and the Canadian release says the Replica has carried three different KTM riders to the top of the Dakar podium since 2023, including Luciano Benavides in January 2026. That's lineage. The bike you can order this fall is the customer Replica, and factory bikes still get parts privateers will never see.

If you want a plated single for backcountry discovery routes and forest-service roads, the 690 Rally is the conversation to have. If you want a multi-stage cross-country race bike with a carbon tower, digital roadbook provisions and about nine gallons split across three tanks, and you can live with a paper order form and a worldwide run of about 100 bikes, this is the door North American rally privateers have been waiting on. When the bikes land, the useful questions will be how many came here and which dealers got them.
