Triumph just locked the production follow-through on its MX2 title year. The 2027 TF 250-X is on the U.S. site from $9,195, with the brand saying bikes are orderable now and due at dealers in November - and the MY27 sheet is real calibration and hardware work, not a sticker-only refresh.
Triumph’s own announcement frames MY27 as race-fed refinement after Guillem Farrés’ World Championship, Camden McLellan’s series runner-up, and Triumph Factory Racing’s FIM MX2 Manufacturers’ title. For buyers, the useful part is what changed on the production bike and what it costs before freight and tax.
What changed for MY27
Triumph lists a revised engine calibration aimed at throttle response, rideability, and torque delivery, plus new valve guides, updated clutch components (including a new clutch pack and bearing), and refined gear-change hardware with a new selector drum and detent wheel. Suspension gets revised KYB front and rear settings and new toolless adjusters. Chassis-side, MY27 adds precision-tuned Neken triple clamps in 7075-T6 aluminum and a revised chain guide. Control switchgear is updated, including a separate stop/start switch layout.
Look and rider tech
The visual tell is all-black bodywork with updated MY27 graphics and redesigned fork guards. Electronics carry over the competition stack Triumph already sold as standard: Launch Control, Traction Control, Quickshifter, and Dual Engine Maps on the Athena ECU with GET Power Assist. Optional Wi-Fi / MX Tune Pro still unlocks extra maps for riders who want deeper tuning. Brakes remain Brembo with Galfer discs; bars stay ProTaper ACF carbon-core with ODI lock-ons; tires are Pirelli MX32 on D.I.D DirtStar rims.
Numbers that matter
Triumph’s published sheet still claims class-leading 250 motocross power at 47.4 bhp (48 PS) around 13,500 rpm, with about 21.1 lb-ft of torque near 9,000 rpm, a 249.95 cc DOHC single, 14.4:1 compression, wet weight about 229.3 lb, seat height 37.8 in, and a 1.8 US gal tank. KYB travel stays roughly 12.2 in front / 12.0 in rear. Treat those as OEM claims until you dyno or weigh your own bike - and remember this is a closed-course motocross machine, not a dual-sport with lights and a plate.
Price and who should care
U.S. MSRP starts at $9,195 (Canada listed around $11,995 CAD in the same rollout coverage). Freight, destination, setup, and tax are still dealer math. If you were waiting on a championship-year TF 250-X with sharper shift/clutch feel and updated KYB clickers before ordering, this is the sheet. Plated trail riders shopping a woods enduro should look elsewhere in Triumph’s off-road lineup - this card is for MX and practice-track buyers.
