France Leads MXoN Qualifying at Ernée. Sunday Still Decides It.

Jorge Prado, Mathis Valin, and Jeffrey Herlings won Saturday's MXGP, MX2, and Open qualifying heats at Ernée. France leads the nations order on 3 points. Italy is 4th. Sunday's B-Final and three races are on the local clock.

If you needed Saturday to tell you who already won the Motocross of Nations, it did not. The qualifying heats at Ernée are in, Corsedimoto has host France on pole position, and that same story says Sunday's races are what decide the winning nation.

Jorge Prado (ESP) won the MXGP qualifying heat from the 31st gate. Corsedimoto says Friday's draw put Spain there, that Romain Febvre (FRA) holeshot from the 22nd gate, and that Prado, the freshly crowned SMX champion, got by the 2025 MXGP world champion for the win. Jan Pancar (SLO) was third, the same top three Dirt Hub prints. Lucas Coenen (BEL) went down on the first bend and came back to fifth. Dirt Hub, MX Vice, and Corsedimoto all have that fifth, and the MXGP classification graphic on the Corsedimoto story lists him there.

Mathis Valin (FRA) won the MX2 qualifying heat. Dirt Hub says he made the home fans happy, with Camden McLellan (RSA) second and Levi Kitchen (USA) third. Corsedimoto has the same podium, and its MX2 classification graphic matches those three names and nation codes. mxgpresults.com scores the MX2 column as France 1, South Africa 2, and the USA 3.

Jeffrey Herlings (NED) won Open qualifying. Dirt Hub calls the ride faultless, ahead of Liam Everts (BEL) and Tom Vialle (FRA). The Racer X Open qualifying heat has Herlings in 24:16.770, Everts 19.625 seconds back, and Vialle 43.237 back. The Open classification graphic on Corsedimoto matches those names, the NED, BEL, and FRA codes, and those times. Vialle's third closes the line Febvre and Valin started for France.

Nations qualifying

France leads on 3 points (2-1-3). mxgpresults.com, last updated Saturday, has that two points ahead of Spain on 5 (1-4-6), with Belgium third on 7 (5-7-2). Italy is 4th on 8 points, printed as 4 in MXGP, (8) in MX2, and 4 in Open. Corsedimoto says that fourth, after a 28th-place draw out of 32 nations, is where Italy's Sunday starts. On the same classification, Finland and the teams from 20th down are the group admitted to the B-Final.

Sunday, Oct. 4

The clock below is the local track time mxgpresults.com publishes as CEST (UTC+2). The ET figure is that time minus six hours, not a second official start time.

B-Final, 11:00 local (5:00 a.m. ET), 20 minutes plus 2 laps.

Race 1, MXGP and MX2, 13:10 local (7:10 a.m. ET), 30 minutes plus 2 laps.

Race 2, MX2 and Open, 14:40 local (8:40 a.m. ET), 30 minutes plus 2 laps.

Race 3, Open and MXGP, 16:08 local (10:08 a.m. ET), 30 minutes plus 2 laps.

Prize giving is immediately after Race 3. Corsedimoto adds that in Italy the three races are on Rai Play starting at 13:00. That is the Italian stream note. It is not a different start time for Race 1.

Set the alarm off the local sheet, not off the qualifying pole. France leads, and that lead is not the trophy. Prado already won an MXGP heat from the 31st gate, so a bad pick on Sunday is not a verdict either. The B-Final goes at 11:00 local. The three races that decide the nation go at 13:10, 14:40, and 16:08 local. Be at the fence for the one that has your class in it.
