Checklist: How to See If Your GasGas or Husqvarna Is Under Braktec Recall

Model-year lists are not a substitute for a VIN check. If you own a 2021–2024 GasGas or 2022–2024 Husqvarna in the Braktec window, run the number before your next trail day.

Step 1 — Identify the regulatory lane. Off-road MC/EC/EX/EW and TE/FX/TX-style dirt bikes sit primarily under the August 20, 2026 CPSC stop-ride recall administered with KTM North America. Street-legal Husqvarna FE 350S/501S and GasGas ES dual-sports sit under NHTSA campaign 26V443.

Step 2 — Use OEM tools. GasGas and Husqvarna publish U.S. service recall-check pages where you can enter a VIN. Screenshot or save the result; bring it to the dealer.

Step 3 — Cross-check street-legal bikes on NHTSA’s recall lookup (nhtsa.gov/recalls) with the same VIN. Ask the dealer specifically for campaign 26V443 if you are on a plated FE/ES.

Step 4 — Stop riding if CPSC stop-ride language applies or if the rear caliper shows cracks, soft lever feel, or recent failure symptoms. Trailer the bike. Free caliper repair/replacement is the stated remedy path in the announcements — do not jury-rig a cracked caliper.

Step 5 — Share the checklist with barn-mates. Related manufacturer expansion notices dated August 19 made clear the dual-sport campaign was not the whole Braktec story.
