Best in the Desert / AORC - official schedule on bitd.com.
Best in the Desert, or BITD, is one of the biggest desert racing organizations in the United States, based in Nevada. Its races run across open desert on long courses of dirt roads, washes, silt beds and rocky sections, with motorcycles and quads racing alongside UTVs and trucks in their own classes.
Desert racing is about pace over distance. Riders and teams often split long races into stints and swap riders at pit stops, so planning, support crews and navigation matter as much as speed. Courses are marked, but reading terrain at speed and managing fatigue are part of the job.
BITD's best-known event is Vegas to Reno, a point-to-point race across Nevada that's one of the longest off-road races in the country. Other events in the series, such as races around Parker, Arizona and Pahrump, Nevada, give riders a chance to score points through the season.
This hub has the BITD schedule and our desert racing coverage. Official results, rules and entry information are on the BITD site.
