WORCS / NGPC

This hub covers the western grand prix racing scene, led by WORCS, the World Off Road Championship Series. Grand prix racing mixes the best of motocross and off-road: a course of a few miles that combines dirt track sections, desert, rocks, hills and sometimes tight technical terrain, raced for a set amount of time instead of a set number of laps.

WORCS runs motorcycle and ATV programs with pro and amateur classes, and the courses lean on the varied terrain of the Southwest, with rounds in states like California, Arizona and Nevada. Some events share dates or co-sanctions with other western series, including the National Grand Prix Championship, so it's worth checking the official schedule for details on any round.

Grand prix racing rewards riders who can do everything well: start fast, handle high-speed sections and stay smooth in the rough for a long race. It's also one of the most approachable forms of racing for amateurs, with classes from beginner to pro.

Below you'll find the schedule and our coverage. The organizer's site is the final word on entries, classes and results.
