A year ago, Angel of the Winds Arena is where Trystan Hart lost the EnduroCross title. He and Jonny Walker left Everett tied on points, and Walker took the crown on the tiebreaker. On Saturday night Hart came back to the same building and didn't leave anything to count. He topped both practices, topped Hot Lap qualifying, and went 1-1-1 in the EX Pro motos to win Round 3 of the 2026 AMA EnduroCross Championship.

It was his second straight overall on the KTM 350 XC-F, and by his own count only the second 1-1-1 of his EnduroCross career, per KTM's race release and Dirt Bike Magazine. Walker went 2-2-2 on his Triumph for second, and Ryder LeBlond went 3-4-3 on his Husqvarna for third. Walker still leads the points, but at the halfway mark of the six-round season the gap to Hart is down to four.

For context, Walker won the Las Vegas opener while Hart left with a seventh, and Hart turned it around a week later with his first win of the year in Nampa.

A slick track and one rider who had it figured out

The Everett layout had multiple lines and room to pass, but the dirt got slicker as the night went on, and Cycle News reported that the slippery right-hander right after the start cost several riders positions. Holding momentum was the hard part. Hart seemed to have the place sorted from the first practice, and he qualified ahead of LeBlond and Walker in Hot Lap.

Moto 1: gone by the third turn

Hart was leading by the third turn, with Walker, Cooper Abbott, Colton Haaker and Cody Webb behind him. He had a six-second cushion by halfway and rode it home. Walker was second, with Abbott and Haaker both on the Kawasakis behind the podium spots.

LeBlond's third was a rescue job. He was as far back as 10th after a bad start and worked all the way to third, per the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team report.

Moto 2: Webb leads, Hart answers

The inverted start for the second moto put the fast qualifiers deeper in the pack, and for a few laps it worked the way it's supposed to. Webb, on the Rocky Mountain Yamaha, got through the traffic quickest and was up to third early, with Hart fifth and Walker seventh. Webb took the lead on Lap 3.

He held it for one lap. Hart was past on Lap 4 and stayed there. Walker picked his way forward and moved into second with three laps to go, so Webb's best ride of the night ended in third. LeBlond salvaged fourth after another weak start and a crash with another rider that he said left him about half a lap down. Abbott was fifth.

Moto 3: the sweep

Abbott grabbed the holeshot in the final moto, and Hart went underneath him almost immediately for the lead. Webb and Walker followed, and Walker got around Webb for second on the next lap. If there was going to be a straight fight between the two title contenders, this was the spot for it.

There wasn't one. Hart had four seconds on Walker by Lap 3 and managed it to the flag. Walker took his third second-place of the night, and LeBlond worked forward from around fifth to third ahead of Webb, Abbott and Tim Apolle.

What they said

Hart said a night like this isn't really how he races, which is part of why the sweep meant something to him:

> "Normally, I like to settle in and just be consistent, and that's kind of how I've molded myself the last decade or so. But tonight, I topped both practices and the Hot Lap qualifying, and all three motos. Believe it or not, that was only my second time ever going 1-1-1. I knew there weren't many, because that's not really my style to hang it out and get everything possible, so it was cool to sweep the motos."

Walker didn't pretend it was a good night, even if the result was:

> "I can't say I'm happy because I was struggling all night, and even in practice I couldn't get a flow like I normally do. To come away with second on your bad night, I think is a good result."

LeBlond was in a similar spot after a night of fighting back from poor starts:

> "To have a bad night and still end up on the podium, I'm pumped on that. We'll work on starts over the next two weeks and come out swinging."

Hart and Walker quotes from Cycle News, LeBlond from the Husqvarna team report.

The points: Hart versus Walker again

Walker leaves Washington on 69 points with Hart on 65, and Hart now has two overall wins to Walker's one. LeBlond is third on 62, seven off the lead after three straight podiums. Abbott has 55, Webb 51 and Haaker 49.

Behind them, Apolle has 43, Hintze 42, Petrie 40 and Nick Thompson 34. That's a lot of riders still in the conversation, but the shape of the season is starting to look a lot like last year, with the two-time champions trading blows at the front and LeBlond close enough to punish either of them for a bad night.

The rest of the night

The EX Expert feature had six transfer spots into the EX Pro main on the line. Max Eppelmann jumped out front with fellow Beta rider Max Gerston on his rear wheel and James Flynn third. Gerston dove underneath for the lead on Lap 2, then lost ground in a tangle in the tire section. Niko Piazza was pressuring for second a lap later until he hit a log and dropped to fifth. When Eppelmann faded late, Gerston took the lead back and pulled away for the win, with Flynn second and Ricky Russell third.

Next up: Salt Lake City

The series gets a week off before Round 4 on Saturday, November 7 at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, per the official event page. After that it's the Idaho Falls doubleheader at the Mountain America Center on November 13 and 14 to close out the season (full calendar on our EnduroCross hub).

Walker still leads, and three second places on a night he called his bad one is the kind of damage control that wins championships. But Hart has won the last two rounds, and he's now closer than he's been all season. If he rides Salt Lake City like he rode Everett, the points lead changes hands.
