AMA Pro Motocross

AMA Pro Motocross is the outdoor national motocross championship in the United States, run every summer on natural-terrain tracks. It's the outdoor half of the SuperMotocross season, which pairs it with Supercross and finishes with the SMX playoffs.

The championship has two classes, 450 and 250. Each round runs two motos per class, and a rider's overall finish combines both. The tracks are long, rough and built into the land, with elevation, ruts and changing traction over a long day, so fitness and bike setup matter as much as speed. Historic venues include Hangtown in California, High Point in Pennsylvania, RedBud in Michigan, Southwick in Massachusetts, Washougal in Washington, Unadilla in New York and Budds Creek in Maryland.

We cover Pro Motocross for the trail and enduro riders who follow the pros, with a focus on results, standings and the stories behind them. For racing that's closer to what most riders do on weekends, check our woods and enduro hubs.
